WHY ITC?

Here at ITC we are committed to providing the most realistic and practical training available. Should you face a life-threatening situation, you will need tactics that work in the real world. One thing that people may not realize is that if you do find yourself in a life-threatening situation, you are in a FIGHT for your life. Therefore our training has been developed from a FIGHT perspective as opposed to focusing on ‘the weapon’ to resolve the situation. Many firearms instructors teach from the perspective of ‘the gun is the solution’ rather than from ‘the FIGHT’ aspect. On the other hand, most of our tactics and techniques are developed from the viewpoint of what someone might do if the found themselves in the same situation... unarmed. We, at ITC feel this is the best approach to developing the most effective tactics for personal defense.

The concepts we teach are, without a doubt, unique! ITC is not “just another company” teaching tactics, firearms, hand-to-hand combat skills, etc. Our instructors think and train ‘outside the box’ which allows our training to excel over others. If you limit your training and tactics to ‘inside the box’, then you have decreased your chances of survival. Truth of the matter is that, if you are serious about survival you must think ‘outside the box.’

The four most critical elements in your survival are; mindset, skill, tactics, and gear. The first and foremost being mindset. Proper mindset will ultimately determine two things; the first one being whether or not you receive proper training and second whether or not you have the discipline to continue to train. Without the proper mindset your chances of survival are greatly reduced. Skill and tactics go hand in hand and are the next most important of the four elements. If you possess tactics but you don’t have the skills needed in order to execute the tactics, then are your tactics a realistic option for you? Truth be known, your mindset and tactics actually play a much larger role in your survival than do your marksmanship skills. Expert marksmanship skills may be good for competition, but they are not what is going to keep you alive in most situations. Yet, you should practice your marksmanship skills and hone these skills by shooting at least 300 rounds monthly. Although gear is the least important of the four, having the proper gear and good quality gear is to your advantage. After all, if your gear doesn’t perform upon demand, then what good is that gear to you?

Our staff has over 50 years of combined tactical, shooting, empty hand and armed combat skills. Other instructors teach you how to shoot your gun; we will teach you how to FIGHT. No instructor can tell you what you will do in a confrontation. In addition, no method is “the way” to do things. There are strengths and weaknesses in everything that is taught. We simply teach you ‘ways’ of doing things. It is ultimately up to you to figure out what works best for you. Your options are only limited by your imagination.

Our instructors at ITC are constantly improving their skills by training on a daily basis, as well as training with other professionals in the industry. Our staff will never “know it all”, or stop learning. In all actuality, we are students as well, and can learn something from the first time student, to the seasoned veterans. In other words, we keep an open mind and in our eyes, everyone is a teacher.
