Everyone has their specialty, and at ITC one of our specialties is Advanced Concealed Carry. Much of the time instructors copy material from other instructors and teach it themselves. You can be assured that is not the case with ITC!
Our tactics are unique in that if you are unable to draw your gun and/or you do not have a gun with you, you can execute our tactics which will provide you with optimal chances of survival in most situations.
In this course we will teach you things you need to know and do to maximize your chances of survival from a self-defense aspect and not just from a “firearms” perspective. One of the issues is that if you focus on drawing your gun and not on surviving first, you may miss other opportunities that would allow you to do something that could have saved your life. If you attempt to draw your firearm and you die (or get seriously injured) while doing so when you should have done something else, then the gun was your “enemy”.
Here is a hard core fact: It doesn’t matter how good of a marksman you are if you are unable to survive long enough in the confrontation to ATTEMPT to draw your gun. Furthermore, if you are lucky enough to be able to attempt to draw your gun, but you get hung up on your holster or cover garment while doing so, what are you going to do then? We will teach you what to do in this situation. If you carry concealed and believe you WILL be able to draw, fire, and hit your target every time, you are sadly mistaken. The reality of it is, you may never have that chance if you do not stay alive long enough to fight to be able to execute the option of drawing and firing. Expert marksmanship is NOT what is going to win the fight in most situations! Your mindset and tactics play a larger role in your survival than your marksmanship.

After practicing multiple realistic life threatening situations with a partner, we then move on to life fire exercises. Proper gun safety is NOT compromised at any point in the training!

Items needed:
| • | One open mind. |
| • | Safe working handgun (revolver or autoloader) |
| • | 3 Magazines (or speed loaders if using a revolver) |
| • | 500 rounds of factory ammunition |
| • | IWB or OWB holster (or other holster you carry) |
| • | Inert gun (training gun such as a blue gun--one that is the same as what you normally carry and will work in your holster!) Airsoft guns are fine. Make sure that all rough edges are smoothed out on the less expensive guns. A training barrel that cannot fire rounds can be used in the place of an inert gun. |
| • | Knee pads and elbow pads (optional) because we will be falling to the ground and fighting your way back up. |
| • | Long pants because we will spend some time on the ground! |
| • | Concealment garment. We WILL be drawing from concealment and firing!!! That’s what this course is all about! |

Course
Requirements:
You MUST be able to demonstrate proper gun
safety!
1. Keeping your finger off the trigger until your muzzle is on
the target and you have made the decision to shoot! To be more specific,
your finger must be in the index position when you are not shooting. We
want to clarify the index position that we like to see is your trigger
finger on the slide or cylinder and NOT on the trigger guard!
2. Do not
sweep your muzzle with anything that you are not willing to destroy.
3. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
4. Never try and
catch a dropped gun whether it is your or someone else’s.
We want to make it clear that you do not need to be an “expert” shot to take this course. Most confrontations take place within 10 feet. Therefore, most of our training is within 10 feet. However, there are some exercises where you will be moving away from the target so you should possess the ability to shoot accurately out to approximately 30 feet. One of the few reasons we would ever ask anyone to leave our course is because you are a safety hazard to yourself and others. We provide close supervision and as of to date we have not had to ask anyone to leave.
For the novice shooters, we encourage you to attend after you have the basic fundamentals of shooting and gun safety down. One of our goals is to reach people before they get caught up in the mindset that traditional schools teach. And that is, the gun is the solution to the problem. In addition, we want to catch people as they are beginning the habit forming process. We have found that it is much easier to teach someone “new” than someone who has been conditioned to think inside the box. Although, after taking this course, most people have a new insight as to how a confrontation really takes place and how to access and utilize a handgun in the fight.
Some people do not sign up because this is an Advanced course that they will not be able to perform to the “Advanced Level”. Quite honestly, since our material is developed by OUR instructors; most of the information is new to most people. Therefore, everyone is going to be on the "same level" as far as learning something new. Sure, some people might be great shots because they have practiced a lot, but being a “Great Shot” is not a course requirement. The material in this course is simple to learn and retain.
No one is asked
to do anything they do not feel comfortable doing. We provide a
professional and friendly training environment.
